The London Team Trophy is an annual team fencing event hosted by the University of London Union (ULU) fencing club.
The competition was set up to address the lack of team competition in the UK and 2009 will be its biggest year yet, with more than double the number of pistes from last year and up to 36 teams competing for the coveted prizes. Team competitions are fun, friendly and exciting and this will be no exception.
For the first time this year we will be taking entries from teams nationally rather than just London and the surrounding area. We hope to continue to increase the number and quality of teams attending and cement the position of the London Team Trophy as the premier inter-club team event in the area.
We will be running a 3 weapon event (mixed foil, mixed sabre, mixed epee) between teams of 3 fencers plus an optional reserve. Matches will be Italian relays to 45 hits. The format we are planning on is 12 teams per weapon, split into poules of 4, followed by a cut to L8 and Direct Elimination bouts. This may change depending on entries, but we guarantee a full day's fencing for all with no early eliminations.
Entries will be accepted on a first come first served basis. Please note it is not possible for any fencer to fence in more than one team.
As with all ULU Fencing events, the competition will be fenced with a fun and friendly atmosphere and there will be an obligatory social afterwards.

Fencers should be BFA members, and all equipment should conform to the current BFA clothing standards for electric fencing. Fencers are responsible for their own equipment, and fence at their own risk. The organizers accept no responsibility for any personal loss or injury during the competition.
